Spring Film Series
The Churchill Arts Council Spring Film Series concludes Friday night with the third Wes Anderson movie, “Moonrise Kingdom” (2023) plays April 18. World-changing events spectacularly disrupt the itinerary of a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention in an American desert town circa 1955.
The movie begins at 7 p.m. The box office, Art Bar and galleries open at 6 p.m.
Tickets are free for members and season ticket holders. For members, tickets are $5 each. Tickets are available at the box office on the night of screening or call the Churchill Arts Council at 775-423-1440.

WNC art display
A Churchill County High School student display of various art is open for viewing at the Western Nevada College’s Fallon campus.
Entitled Whispering Art of the Nevada Desert, the exhibit primarily features paintings and other creative piece depicting Nevada’s unique culture. The is available for public viewing through April 21 followed by another exhibit featuring WNC students.
Approximately 30 artists are involved with the art show.
Greenwave Theatre presents “Hamlet”
Churchill County High School’s drama department presents William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” May 1 at 4:30 p.m., 2 at 7 p.m. and 3 at 1 p.m. General admission tickets are $10 and children/student tickets are $8 each. CCHS sophomore Kingston Murray plays the title role.

PACC spring musical
The Performing Arts of Churchill County presents the foot-stompin’ hit Broadway musical “Pump Boys and Dinettes.”
The full-length country western musical features Summer Stanton and Adia Finch sharing the role of Rhetta Cupp and Melissa Derby as her sister, Prudie, singing and dancing at the Double Cupp Diner. Byron Sorensen, Jake Coval, Kenny Coval, Mick Penick and Tom Fleming play the musically talented pump boys from the gas station next door.
Showings are scheduled at The Fallon Theatre for April 25 and 26 and May 9 and 10 at 7 p.m. with matinees on April 26 and May 9 at 1 p.m.
Additional showings will also be held at The Brewery Arts Auditorium in Carson City and the Dini Cultural Center in Yerington.

The Sound of Music
The Western Nevada Musical Theatre Co., is presenting “The Sound of Music” in Carson City.

There will be seven performances: May 9, 10, 16, 17 at 7:30 p.m. and May 11, 17 and 18 at 2 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center.
Tickets: $25/$28 for individual shows.

Green Goddess Market on May 4 at the Arts Council features produce for sale from local farmers, artwork from local artists and crafters, music by local musicians, and more.
