Art museum opens ‘Concerts in the Garden’ series on UND campus – Grand Forks Herald

GRAND FORKS – The North Dakota Museum of Art opens the 2025 Concerts in the Garden series at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, on campus, with the soul-funk sounds of Joslyn and The Sweet Compression band from Lexington, Kentucky. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.

General admission is $15 for museum members and $20 for non-members. Season packets, $75, are not concert specific and can be used for any concert in the series. Tickets are non-refundable.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to the museum grounds on the UND campus.

This is the first of five concerts planned this summer at the museum on the UND campus. Others are: July 8 – Christopher Paul Stelling, from Atlanta; July 15 – Brett Newski, Milwaukee; Aug. 5 – She Keeps Bees, Brooklyn, New York; and Aug. 19 – Laamar, Minneapolis.

Joslyn and The Sweet Compression features dynamic singer Joslyn Hampton backed by musicians on guitar, drums, saxophone, keyboard, bass guitar, trombone and trumpet who deliver inspiring and uplifting music.

From this blues powerhouse to solo troubadours like Newski and Stelling, this series “is certain to please,” according to the museum’s event announcement.

Concerts will be performed rain or shine, unless conditions force cancellation; they will not be moved indoors.

With this slate of concerts, the museum marks its 18th year of providing entertainment by some of the nationally-touring bands as they criss-cross the country playing clubs and festivals.
