Fourth of July fireworks, events around Colorado Springs | Arts & Entertainment

Hot dogs, cold treats, and firework displays are on the horizon as the Fourth of July nears.
While fireworks are illegal for residents to buy, possess, or use within Colorado Springs city limits, nearly a dozen professional displays will light up the sky this Independence Day.
This year’s Fourth of July celebration includes events throughout the Pikes Peak region on July 4 and the weekend before the holiday.
Here’s a look at upcoming events and displays to check out this year:
Free and open to the public
Pre-Fourth of July dates
Fort Carson Freedom Fest at Iron Horse Park on Saturday, June 28, from 4 to 10 p.m.: Live rock concert, bounce houses, food trucks, family-friendly activities and more. Click here for base access information.
Meridian Ranch Fireworks Display at WindingWalk Park on Saturday, June 27: Music, games, a barbecue competition and a 5K at 9 a.m. Fireworks begin at 9:20 p.m.
On the Fourth of July
Fourth of July Concert & Fireworks at Banning Lewis Ranch from 4 to 9 p.m. on July 4: Live music and more than 20 food trucks.
Fourth of July Celebration in Cripple Creek from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.: Cripple Creek donkeys, food trucks, vendors, an art show, family activities and a scavenger hunt with prizes.
Symphony Above the Clouds in Woodland Park at 5 p.m. (weather permitting): Free concert by the Woodland Park Wind Symphony featuring Gus Meza. Fireworks are scheduled to begin just after sunset. *Before the concert, an Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (see below).
Festival on the Fourth in Palmer Lake at 4 p.m.: Family-friendly entertainment, live music, a beer garden and food vendors.
Ticketed events with fireworks displays
Star-Spangled Symphony and Fourth of July Fireworks at Ford Amphitheater on July 4 at 5:30 p.m.: The Colorado Springs Philharmonic and School of Rock will perform. Fireworks will follow the show.
Rocky Mountain Vibes vs. Oakland Ballers at UCHealth Park. Fireworks will be launched after the game on July 4. Click here to purchase tickets.
Colorado Springs Switchbacks vs. Louisville City at Weidner Field. An immersive Independence Day Firework Spectacular will follow the match. Click here to purchase tickets.
*The Colorado Springs Philharmonic’s patriotic performance will also be livestreamed on Rocky Mountain PBS at 9:15 p.m. and simulcast on local radio stations.

Free Fourth of July events without fireworks
Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration in Woodland Park from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 4: Games, vendors, food, drinks, an arts and crafts market and the Children’s Entrepreneur Market. *Fireworks follow during the Symphony Above the Clouds event at 5 p.m.
Fourth of July Festivities in Monument include a pancake breakfast, Palmer Lake Fun Run, the Fourth of July Parade, the Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce Street Fair and live music at Limbach Park on July 4. See the full schedule and locations here.
Fourth of July Block Party at Green Box Arts in Green Mountain Falls at 6 p.m. on July 4: Water lantern launch ($10), live music, lawn games and aerial performers.
